By last count we have 17 teams sitting at two or three losses. With seven teams currently having one loss that means we effectively have 23 teams in position for a 16 team playoff. Anything can happen so it is time to strap up the cleats nice and tight because slippin on the field will have you slippin into the "B's"!
Time for the picks...
Week 6 Schedule- Quakerbridge rd fields
Field 1
9am Commission v Blue Bulls - Quote of the year, "Don't say anything to Tony. He will schedule his games late so his guys won't make our PA games. He's petty like that!" - Marquis Chew. I have no defense. Commission is coming off of a tough loss precipitated by issues with execution and ball security. They catch the ball they win the game. Blue Bulls put a hurting on Exquisite making them one of the seven teams sporting one loss. That total gets doubled after a loss to the Commission.
10am Venom v Falcons - weird how I go easy on cats when they win games and just stay quiet. Cheer when you did something good. Celebrate with your teammates when you win. Geeeeeez us I sound like an old man telling you young guys how things were "back in my day". Venom is playing well. The Falcons have struggled to hold on to passes and pull flags. Bad recipe for success. The loss against Venom will taste awful.
11am Raptors v Hardville - got dammit man. I picked the Raptors to win their game last week and they pooped on my prognostication ability by scoring a whopping 7 points. At least Hardville was nice enough to score seven, but make me a winner by losing. A tie is like kissing your sister so someone has to win this game. I'm picking Hardville to win and someone should let me kiss their sister.
Field 2
8am Average Joes v Bulldogs - battle of the softball schedules. I am besides myself on how to pick this game. The Bulldogs think I have an agenda against them (secretly do) and the Average Joe's have a better record in Mercer than in Burlington which is FUCKING weird. I haven't picked the Bulldogs to win all season. That changes today! What have I become?
9am HMC Elite v Irish - not sure I have ever played a game against this team that was not close. No reason to think that changes this week.
10am Warriors v Old Dogs - After three weeks in the loss column the Warriors finally found their way back to a "W" against YGLT. The Old Dogs have found so many different ways to lose I had to stop counting. Since I only can count to two I stopped weeks ago. Warriors tend to have a plan even if it is a bad plan. I will take a bad plan over no plan. Bruce puts the bad plan to work for the win.
Field 3
8am Ducks v You gon Learn Today - can't spell clutch without Billy Bob. I mean you can, but it is more fun my way. Ducks came from behind to score a one point win over the Old Dogs. I was there. I saw it. It was fun. Not fun was the loss You Gon Learn Today took from the Warriors. They have identical records, but the YGLT defense is tight. Like Method Man once said, "That's real to a brother like me baybee. Never ever give the pussy away and keep it tight aiiht." YGLT gone keep it 100.
9am GW Tire v Lions - REMATCH! At the end of the Fall Season, the Lions were so dominant on defense I thought they were not only going to beat the Overachievers in the Semi-finals, but I thought they were going to thump the Saints in the Finals. The former squad had a whole helping of IDGAF as they made the Lions SADAKY. Both teams are coming off of wins against tough opponents. No one has more confidence than Danny, but the Lions come a close second. Barbecue chicken for everybody, but I am still OA at heart. OA all day.
10am Saints v Elite - Field 3 has good games on it. The two best QB's in the league not named Bruce Stone will be on full display. Don't want to get panties in a bunch because these defenses are fucken amazing. The only thing these teams lack is special teams. All jokes aside, I cannot remember the last time Elite has beaten the Saints. At various points during the season both QBs have been pressed into playing defense. I suspect both rosters will be motivated to show up. It won't matter because until proven otherwise the Saints will continue to bless Elite with "L's".
11am KPC v Those Guys - No one beats Those Guys. I mean except for the Warriors and GW Tire Service, but no one else. KPC finally won after losing two consecutive games. Things these two have in common - They both beat HMC Mediocre. Things they will not have in common. They both will not beat Those Guys.
Field 4
8am Alter Ego v Exquisite - I feel like this could be a game. I feel like I do not care at all about it. Do you care at all. The way Alter Ego has been playing I suspect they don't care either. So many things to consider about this game. The biggest quest is where in the park will the game be so I can avoid it (See Nicholas Alan THIS is disrespectful!). I think Alter Ego gets their first win of the season.
9am Knights v Miami - Well field four just got spicy. The Knights will be tested for the first time since their opening day loss to the Lions. Miami beat the Bulldogs so badly that the Facebook page has been quiet. Last week the Knights intercepted so many passes I thought that both teams were wearing the same jerseys. Turns out they were not. If they want to win this week they are going to need to camouflage themselves to beat a Miami team that believes they should never lose.
10am Dynasty v Ravens - I probably should have started here first. I am tired and do not really want to write about recreational flag football today. My kids have an assembly tonight about bugs that feels more entertaining than what I would write about this game. Dynasty got thumped and the Ravens humped Hardville. Because I am lazy and because I just have not motivation to write anything serious I'll end with this thought. Forget it. Ravens win again.
