The weather is decidedly cooler, which means the stakes are getting higher. Time to decide where you want to "B"e.
Field 1
8am Longhorns v Hardville - "my man predicts the Longhorns will lose every damn week (asshole) lol..." Sometimes if you say it enough it might be true, problem with your statement is that the only thing true about it is that I am an asshole! Longhorns will win. Has anyone ever heard White Vick talk? He has a silky smooth radio baritone voice that could get Feinstein out of his thong. Will be the only thing that Hardville enjoys this week.
9am NWO v Blue Bulls - Speaking of things no one enjoys. Both teams are sitting at 3-4 and desperately need a win to qualify for the dance. The stats say that both defenses are even by allowing 4 scores a game. NWO has a secret weapon in Tim Gola who has proven to be the only quarterback to successfully run Tony Annoyo's vast playbook. This is how I imagine the play gets called, "ok everyone, run around, get open, and then throw it to Bryan". Should be enough to get it done this week.
10am Team USA v Alter Ego - Not sure what is the source of the animosity. However, the gauntlet has been laid down for Team USA after Joe Spindarella challenged his teammates to "...put up 70 on these scrubs". I am sure it is good natured ribbing, but the only ribbing I want to see from a sub 500 team is in the condoms they plan to use on Feinstein. Actually, I think they take a fisting by Team USA this week.
11am Crimson Tide v Spartans - the outcome of these two teams' games last week forces us to ask is it worse to lose a close game or get hammered? They're both bad. 7 weeks in the Tide has all of the tie-breakers in their division. Unbelievably, the Spartans still have an outside shot at winning the division and or making the playoffs. That shot will be zero once the Tide wins and puts a stranglehold on things with two to play.
Field 2
8am Dynasty v Skell Nation - 3. That is number of wins between the two of them at this point in the season. With no chance of qualifying these two teams are looking to build momentum for a deep push in the Bees. I really do not have a clue as to what happened to Dynasty this season, but I think this is the week they put it all together for the start of a winning streak.
9am Laces Out v Silverbacks - seven weeks in and the Fall of 2017 has been a step back for Laces Out. Seven weeks in and the Fall of 2017 has been a coming out party for the Silverbacks. Now if only Brandon Feinstein would follow in their footsteps. The Silverbacks will finish a couple of steps in front of the Laces Out.
10am Falcons v Suicide Squad - Ahhhh yeah, We got the Puerto Rican Day parade over on field two at 10 this week! 3. That is the number of losses taken by both teams last Sunday. Suicide Squad is in need of one win to clinch the division while the Falcons need a win to keep pace with the first place Tide. It should be an excellent contest, but in the end it will be the depth of Suicide Squad which will take it home.
11am Goats v The Replacements - Finally the match up everyone wanted to see. These two squads used to play with each other until a fissure in team ideology divided the team and sent the two sides in separate directions. OK no one cares, but the subplot is fascinating especially considering the relative success of the Replacements. Not dominant by any means, but they have made the most of a schedule and I think they continue the trend against their "friends".
12pm Spartans v Goats - if my predictions are correct both teams will come into this game licking their wounds coming out of their first game losses. Having watched exactly six snaps between the two teams I am of the mind that they are evenly matched, but they're not. Goats will win, but not so easily.
Field 3
8am HMC Elite v You Gon Learn Today - I am not sure I have ever been a part of a three game losing streak. I am familiar with YGLT as they have played in Monroe. It did not go well for me that day.
9am Overachievers v Commission - my old team overcame taunts from Facebook and the absence of their QB and tw0 of their starters to win a come from behind game against the Longhorns. The Commission was one half of the Suicide Squad massacre last week. The last time these two teams played the Commission overcame a 20 point halftime deficit for an upset win on their way to an 8-2 season. The Commission is back to that form, but my old team is far stronger since my ouster. If the old team gets a big lead they will not relinquish it this time.
10am Money Team v Warriors - well well well. Money Team loves celebrating Money Team (the championship photo is posted, in addition to the announcement that they have won the NFC EAST). The Warriors are fresh off the heels of a Mollywhopping of the Goats and a huge victory in Burlington. The Warriors are on the cusp of being eliminated from the A playoffs. There is nothing Money Team would want more than to be the team that put them on the outside. Word from the double secret special committee is that any player on the suspension list will still be ineligible to play. Word from me is that the Warriors will fall short of a win.
11am Elite v Irish - Karma: means action, work or deed; it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect). Some of the dudes with Elite play in Burlington for a team called the predators. Last season the Predators forced a forfeit against my old team in the last week of the season when a conflict arose. They came up with thin excuses as to why they wouldn't change times. By not switching times and getting the forfeit the Predators won the division over my team. I wasn't happy. NOW, the players have a conflict as their Burlington game is at 11:30 against my team while they play also have very tough game against the Irish at 11. They asked me to push back the start time of the game in Burlington so they can do both. Should I be a dick about it? HAHAHAHA. I don't have any additional analysis, but I think the athleticism of the Irish takes the day while I decide on the many different ways to give the predators the middle finger.
Field 4
8am Dillon Panthers v Old Dogs - This might be the point in the season where the Old Dogs make their push for the A Playoffs. To get there they will need to field a complete team and beat teams Like the Dillon Panthers. The Panthers are trying to build steam to make noise in the B playoffs. They will have to wait to next week to make that happen.
9am Bulldogs v Miami - Probably the most improbable 6-1 record in the MCFFL belongs to the Bulldogs. They have managed each game and given themselves an opportunity to win each week. Like Ralph likes to say, "Plan the work and work the plan!" Miami has been a case study in inconsistency. The one thing that is never inconsistent is their ability to score. Of all the Bulldog wins only one of their opponents what amounted to a top ten offense. The Bulldogs will get tested by the Miami offense this week. I don't think they pass.
10am Lions v Wildcats - things I have gotten right this season - Lions. Things I have gotten wrong - Wildcats. Actually the list of things I have gotten wrong is a lot longer, but for this exercise I will only admit to the Wildcats. Prams might be a no-show for the Lions this week. The Lions ability to win the game go to Oink and Moo if he cannot show. There was a good chance they were going to fall short anyway, especially with Vic Wereski playing John Wilson inspired football.
11am Nukes v Saints - this game will decide the division. As of late the Nukes have left some plays on the field with very uneven play. Conversly the Saints have hit their stride with dominance on both side of the ball as they have outscored their opponents 91-18. Imagine how much more effective Feinstein will be if he comes clean with who he really is (no pause). The Saints will not pause either on their way to a division title.
