Field 1
8am Dynasty v Spartans - I am sitting in my dining room right listening to some 80's music wondering about where the good old days went. I am sure both of these teams are wondering where the wins are, after collecting six "L's" between them. For any chance at making an "A" playoff run one of these teams is going to have to win this game. Not normally must win in week three, but that is where they are. Since someone has to win this game I will pick Dynasty to live up to their name.
9am Overachievers v Laces Out - after mustering up a whopping 7 points against the Nukes the Overachievers are looking to field a full roster and potent offense. Laces Out is exactly the elixir a scuffling offense can use to cure a point drought. Consider them the ex-lax of scoring. Shit will be running everywhere by the end of this one.
10am Irish v Blue Bulls - both teams scored 34 points against their opponents last week. Only one of these teams won though. I will allow that one team played a good team and the other played Dynasty. Now they get to square up and solve the riddle, "Where do great expectations go to die?" My guess is that if they are the Blue Bulls they go to field one at 10.
11am Silverbacks v Alter Ego -I really wanted the Silverbacks to win last week. I know you can question my objectivity, but I've never pretended to NOT be biased. I am still hoping the Silverbacks win enough games to make the A playoffs so I can here one of the "good" teams cry about scheduling. Anyway, they both lost last week. The Silverbacks lost to the 5 man Goats while Alter Ego lost to the Bulldogs. This is a pick em. I pick em for Alter Ego.
Field 2
8am Skell Nation v Longhorns - these two teams are sitting at 1-2 coming into this weekend. Skell Nation got their last week with a loss to the resurgent Suicide Squad. Longhorns plugged some of the holes in their defense with a nice win against Team USA. If I was picking on pure athleticism I wouldn't pick either team. I will have to find something else. Who has nicer uniforms? Anyone? Pure guess here. Longhorns.
9am Crimson Tide v Old Dogs - The tide won a hard fought game against the Falcons. The Old Dogs got curbstomped by the Commission and then ball clapped on them hard after taking the L. Now they look to play against the Mike Woods-less Crimson Tide. He is busy looking for challenges on NBA 2k18. The Crimson Tide will be yelling "NEXT" after they win this week.
10am Saints v Team USA - people often whisper that Brandon gets tight when things get close. I saw no evidence of this during what can be called the game of the week against the Irish. Team USA struggled to get points against the worst defense in the league while taking a disheartening loss. Things get no easier as they play the undefeated SAINTS.
11am Money Team v Miami - Money Team just doin Money Team things. Doesn't matter who is on the roster. Doesn't matter who shows up. As long as that Money Team is across the front of that jersey they just keep puttin L's on teams. Last week they beat up on the up and coming Elite squad. Miami also wins a lot. After starting the season with a loss without their quarterback, the team got their leader back and hung a loss on a stunned Warriors team. This game is shaping up to be the game of the week. I am not sure Miami has ever beaten this team and I do not see a reason why that changes this week.
Field 3
8am Nukes v Commission - three weeks in and the Nukes are charting new territory with a 3-0 record. Wins have come at the expense of Charlie Klose and Daniel Sasso in back to back weeks. Now they face an undefeated Commission team that has beaten three teams with a combined record of 3-6. Not their fault but it is their problem as the competition steps up against a team that comes in battle hardened. Nukes win again.
9am You Gon Learn Today v Elite - times have been tough for YGLT. They have seen losses against some of the best teams and the Lions. Now they get to face a team that is coming off of back to back losses to against two of the five undefeated teams in the league. On paper they seem evenly matched, but they lose in the most important position. Elite gives YGLT their fourth loss in as many weeks.
10am Warriors v HMC Elite - the last time we played the Warriors, Bruce had so many players on the team it had me wishing our President would have just built the damn wall. Of course it wasn't any of the undocumented workers that beat us but the big corn fed white guy who beat us like a drum up and down the field. Literally, first play from scrimmage and we were down 6-0. Has anyone ever seen a guy with absolutely no emotion on his face? He is flag football robot!
11am NWO v Suicide Squad - my brother in law is a funny dude. Someone says to him, "You need to stop burning all these bridges!" to which he replies, "I don't need a fucking bridge. I can swim just fine!" Problem is he doesn't need swimmers he needs players. Especially, if they have any desire of beating the undefeated Suicide Squad. Arroyo's everywhere will be divided, but in the end only a heaven sent Arroyo will be victorious.
Field 4
8am Bulldogs v Dillon Panthers - my favorite sentence in this whole blog this week: BOTH TEAMS WON last week. Actually, both teams beat the dogshit out of their respective opponents by a combined 49 points. That kind of domination will be on full display as these juggernauts go head to head for B supremacy. OK That made me laugh! Bulldogs are "B"etter this week.
9am Lions v Irish - These two are looking to establish themselves as legitimate top tier teams this season. Lots of athleticism on both sides as this game features two of the more elusive QBs in the league. While the Lions slipped by YGLT the Irish watched the game tilt against them in a heartbreaker. I expect an entertaining game and at least one Pramburger meltdown. Irish has Brandon Johnson. He don't meltdown.
10am Lions v Hardville - the day won't be a total waste for the Lions. After playing the Irish they will get a Hardville team that has yet to find success anywhere except the beer pong tournaments they play. Playing beer pong on Saturday does not lead to football success on Sunday. It won't help this week against the Lions either.
11am Wildcats v The Replacements - Not sure anyone was expecting the type of beatdown the Wildcats caught last week. Reeling from two straight losses the Cats now face a Replacements team that has won their last two games. Winning two in a row is always a good thing, but they haven't faced anything like the Wildcats who are hungry and motivated. Back to flat Earth for the Replacements.
Bye : Falcons & Goats
