Speaking of life. Can we just stop with all of the ugliness? We get it. Prams sucks, OC is overrated, and Dooly is not as good as Dooly thinks Dooly is. I'll probably be told that the Monstars, will beat my team, to worry about my own sorry team, and I am not better than the Monstars or Ken Gluck. You get that prediction for free!
Time for the picks...
Hardville v Dynasty - Hardville showed me exactly where I could stick my picks after beating the brakes off of the Old Dogs. Dynasty did what Dynasty does with an L against the Alter Ego. Not a lot of success for Dynasty the last few season. John Dohanic does aquatic aerobics so he is in phenomenal shape. His fitness should be enough to carry Hardville to an easy win.
Falcons v 908 - week two saw the first win of the season for the Arroyo led Falcons. Justin has big shoes to fill with the vacancy of the newly crowned championship QB Ken Gluck! 908 also found success in week two with a win over the Blue Bulls. With that kind of momentum picking a winner should be hard. It isn't really. Arroyo and the Falcons should have enough to prove that 609 > 908
KPC v Ravens - Ravens upset the Raptors last week with a decidedly one way victory. KPC found themselves on the ass end of a shutout against Elite. In spite of KPC's experience, these teams are evenly matched. Execution is the name of the game and I can foresee KPC killing the Ravens.
Venom v Suicide Squad - Turns out a neutered defending champion is much better than the third best team in Burlington! Wonder how much better a fully stocked Spring runner-up is over a team that qualitatively can match up against anyone in Mercer. See what happened was Venom was a new team last season so they got a new team schedule. They handled it well. Because of that success they get a more difficult schedule. It is going to be a long season for Venom, but it should be a great learning experience. Suicide Squad should teach them well.
Overachievers v Commission - my second favorite team against my favorite player. Obviously, the Commission is more than a one-trick pony. Just don't know how many tricks exactly, but it was enough to beat You Gone Learn Today. Not sure I have seen so many players on the Commission as I did last week. Last season the Commission had a real chance to eliminate the Overachievers from the playoffs before ultimately succumbing to OA. They're going to need everyone to beat the Overachievers, but they will underachieve in that endeavor.
Elite v Tune Squad - So Tune Squad played Irish last week with drafted members of Elite playing for Irish. Now they get to play each other for real. Members of these teams play for the best five man team anywhere, Supreme. All the players know one another, but the success has been one-sided to Elite. Always a battle bro.
Monstars v Irish - These teams have been asking for the other since before the season. The Monstars have been barking at the Nomads, but since the Nomads will not play in Mercer the best we can get is members of the Nomads that play with Irish. That scenario leaves a built-in excuse because whenever their teams do not succeed the refrain always turns back to, "I'm good yo. This ain't my real team." The Monstars trotted out first ballot HOF QB Ken Gluck to steer the ship for their latest incarnation. In Kenny's first game at the helm the Monstars were steady and in control against a team that makes teams unsteady against their opponents. They managed to do that in their very first game. That outcome should put the league on notice. The Monstars are the team to beat. They would be the team to beat without O-See. They become a mark because of O-Sea. This game will be one-sided with the Monstars earning bragging rights against guys that will not care, but kind of care.
You Gone Learn Today v Warriors - YGLT learned that you can't just trot out talent and expect to win. You have to have cohesion, a plan, and execution of the plan in order to win. Last season the Warriors didn't play everyone in their division. Neither did the other teams in their division. Because they didn't get to play all of the teams in their division now they've started 1-1 which includes a come from behind win against "B" team Falcons and a disappointing outcome against Those Guys. If they go 5-5 AGAIN, but managed to play everyone in their division is it still the league's fault they miss the "A" playoffs? They'll be closer to making the "A's" after winning this week.
Saints v Those Guys - Brandon and the guys took last week off so Bren could go to another wedding with a random tinder date. Those Guys spent last Sunday taking care of business against the Warriors. The last time the Saints started a season 0-2 was when Bren was getting his second booty-hole drained. Those Guys will prove to be a tough foe, but not tough enough to knock the Saints into an 0-2 start.
Average Joes v Ducks - Burlington will get a win this week. Sadly it will be at the expense of another Burlington team. The Ducks have added players from a struggling Burlington team to get numbers every week. The Joes keep plugging away looking for the success that has escaped them two weeks into the season. They will not have to look further than a week three win against the Ducks.
Raptors v Blue Bulls - Both teams were on losing outcomes last week. Hard to say which loss was worse, but all losses are bad. They want to avoid losing two weeks in a row. The games between these two are always closely contested. I do not expect anything else this week. This game is a coin flip and I say Raptors will win the toss.
Old Dogs v Bulldogs - another battle of the Dogs. Last time they played the Bulldogs beat the Old Dogs. Last week the Bulldogs managed to shutout the Knights. When games are this evenly matched I look towards the QBs. However, I don't know who has the clear advantage so I will take the Bulldog defense over the Old Dog offense.
Knights v Alter Ego - I think the Knights have scored exactly one touchdown this season. Not a good recipe to winning games. Alter Ego has rejoined with John Feldhaus with the caveat that Feldhaus is NOT playing QB. That formula worked for Alter Ego last week. I think it works this week too!
Bye: Lions - we should have peace, but who knows.
