This should be a good one...
Week 10 Schedule
Double headers: Elite, Those Guys, Dynasty & Old Dogs
Field 1
8am Suicide Squad v Irish - the weekend starts with what should have been a first round playoff matchup now begins with two team fighting to get an invitation to the prom! Both teams have been plagued attendance issues and split loyalties. They aren't lacking for talent, they're lacking for drive and motivation. They can fix everything with a win. Suicide Squad is in with a win. The Irish can earn a spot but will need some help to make it happen. If both teams have all of their players I like Suicide Squad to pull it out and then get eliminated in the first round, but that is for next week!
9am Falcons v Ducks - another game with playoff implications. The ducks are currently the 6th seed so a win secures an invitation. The Falcons can earn a spot with a win and a loss by KPC with approximately 20 less points allowed. If I know Kenny, he will be prepared to throw passes and catch them himself if he thinks he can earn his team an invite after struggling for so much of the season. Sadly, the Ducks will be the tougher bird.
10am HMc Elite v Lions - last time these two played the Lions allowed a total of 7 points to the HMC Offense. Tony threw more touchdowns to the Lions than he did to his own team. Not a good recipe for winning. For the second consecutive season the Lions have proven to be among the league's elite with a defense second to no one. If they can solve the offensive shortcomings we might be talking about them again in another month.
Field 2
8am You Gon Learn Today v Venom - the young boys have earned the division title and could climb to as high as a #2 seed with a win and losses by HMC and Those Guys. YGLT has melted down the last few weeks as their standing has taken a hit with 3 losses in four games. Now they're going to have to beat Venom for a chance to make the "A's". My sizable gut tells me You Gone Learn Today will not "B" making the A's.
9am Elite v Those Guys - I am so pun-ny. In spite of the way the season has gone for them Those Guys have yet to qualify for the playoffs. To do so they will need to win one of their last two games. I swear on the life of my fat mama I will NEVER let them hear the end of it if they fail to do so! That said the probability of Those Guys NOT making the A's is actually quite low. Elite has played a daunting schedule this season. This game should be an interesting matchup of styles. However, Charlie has seen it all. He should see his team to another win and a top three seed.
10am Elite v Exquisite - this is going to be AJ Thomas. I mean ugly. Exquisite has managed to find themselves in line for a playoff berth because of two forfeit wins (Irish, Alter Ego). They probably don't belong in the "A's" so this is their chance to prove me wrong. God knows I am never wrong. I certainly won't be wrong about Exquisite losing.
11am Hardville V Ravens - both of these squads have a chance to make the playoffs. I have a chance to have sexual relations with Gal Gadot too, but I think we know how that is going to go. This game is an even match in every way. The points allowed is close, the division is close, and the offenses are close. Experience is not close. Johnny D is my man. He gives the Ravens that Dohanic for a chance to open up a slot into the A's.
Field 3
8am Old Dogs v Those Guys - The dogs were eliminated weeks ago, but they are an unconventional and dangerous team. Especially one that doesn't always have their players. If Those Guys want to win Nicholas will have to bring his absentee ass to the fields. Nick, Nick he's our man, if he can't do it, it doesn't matter! Those Guys are good enough without him!
9am Commission v Warriors - I love this game. Both teams have had head scratching seasons. Both have beaten quality wins while suffering cap-swelling losses. With a win one of these teams will qualify for the playoffs while the loser will have to wait to see how the day shakes out. Composure will be at a premium. The team with the most will win. God that is funny! Won't be funny when Commission finds a way to keep things together enough to win.
10am GW Tire v Miami - contrast in styles and disposition. GW Tire is literally the living embodiment of workman attitude. The former champs punch the clock, do make the plays that are presented, make no excuses, and let the results speak for themselves. Miami has two playoff wins against the Chargers and have done nothing else, but they are late to games, try to make every play a big play, blame the officials, and let you know they're the best whether they win or lose. Miami needs the game to make the A playoffs and Sasso will not be at the game. Miami talks for another week.
11am Average Joes v Blue Bulls - this feels appropriate. They have both qualified for the playoffs. They both broke the headboards when they got ass-pounded by their opponents last week. 6-4 looks a lot worse than 7-3. With their invitation secured this game is merely for bragging rights. I was going to say something snarky about not being to brag if you've never beaten anyone good, but they both have this season. Average Joe's will earn those rights this Sunday.
Field 4
8am Dynasty v KPC - Dafuq? KPC needs to win and they're in. They're in.
9am Dynasty v Old Dogs - So I've been writing this as the Facebook page is getting fucking spicy. People talking shit to Ralph. OC is saying awful things to Prams that he means, but has to pretend he doesn't actually mean. Flex thinks the Warriors are the best team in the league. I guess he means whatever co-ed league the warriors play in. I am not going back to re-write the blog, but if you mention a guy's family you deserve whatever you get. Ralph isn't my best friend by any means, but that shit is out of pocket. How do we have two Michael Soto's? I feel like one is too many! For people who are not associated with the league, but want information get a hold of Charlie Klose. Be prepared to pay the league fee upfront and have me say borderline disrespectful football shit. Old Dogs will win this meaningless game. BBQ Chicken-time!
10am Raptors v Knights - this season has been up and down for both teams. Would explain why both are sitting on the threshold of a 500 season. The knights in particular were looking like a team on the brink. Now they're on the brink of the "B's". They both need to win to qualify, but the Knights need it more. The Knights get that win and hold their breath.
11am Bulldogs v Spartans - saving the best for last? Bulldogs need a miracle to get in. They need to win and then need a bunch of teams to lose and allow like 100 points. That losing streak was a doozy. Spartans are playing for pride. That pride gets bruised by the Bulldogs. See, I do pick you guys to win!
Saints forfeit win over Alter Ego - I suspect all parties will celebrate Brandon's 30th for the second consecutive week!
